Meet Your Manager: Karen Jones Eithier, Roger Williams University

Roger Williams University, with campuses in Bristol and Providence R.I., is a leading independent, coeducational university with programs in the liberal arts and the professions. Karen Jones Ethier has worked at RWU for more than 15 years, mainly as Assistant Director and then Director of the Media Services department. In 2014 she joined the IT department as Director of Support Services. Her areas of oversight include classroom and event support (formerly Media Services), helpdesk, and desktop support services. With expertise in both IT and AV, we wanted to learn about her strategies for cohesive and collaborative campus technology. Read more.


Meet Your Manager: Randall Janney, York College of Pennsylvania

York College of Pennsylvania is a small, private college located in south central Pennsylvania that offers more than 50 baccalaureate majors in professional programs, the sciences and humanities to its 4000 undergraduate students. The College also offers master’s programs in business, education and nursing, and a doctorate in nursing practice. Randall Janney serves as the audiovisual specialist in the Office of Information Technology. Since his primary responsibility managing more than 160 AV-equipped rooms on campus, as well as all campus televisions, we wanted to know how Randall maintains optimal system performance. Meet Your Manager: Susan Brower, Loyola University

Take the iconic streetcar down St Charles Avenue to Loyola University New Orleans, and it’s hard not to admire the southern charm of the school’s picturesque campus and the verdant beauty of Audubon Park across the road. But location isn’t all Loyola has going for it. It’s a comprehensive university with nearly 4,300 students and an eye to the latest technological tools. Susan Brower, Media Services Coordinator of the school’s Monroe Library, manages the division that handles instructional technology in classrooms and throughout the library, web and video conferencing, media duplication, and equipment loans. Brower believes that the key to successfully collaborating in an ever-evolving industry is consistent, meaningful communication. Meet Your Manager: Scott Deetz, AV Manager, Cedarville University

The AV/IT convergence has been playing out at Cedarville University for several years, even before AV/IT convergence was a buzzword. It all started with us requesting to put our Crestron processors on the network to remotely manage rooms with Crestron’s RoomView software. From there, it has slowly evolved into a great relationship with the IT department. Read more


 

The University of Alabama Awarded The University of Alabama's President's Faculty Award

Lindley Shedd, one of thirteen faculty members (out of nearly 2000) at The University of Alabama, was presented with the President's Faculty Research Award on March 31, 2016. Read more.
